A number of club riders climbed out of their beds early to make the long trek out to the Q10/19 Tonbridge bypass course for the San Fairy Ann 10 mile TT. For a couple of the riders, it was their first trip back to this course in over 20 years.

Conditions were warm but with a stif crosswind in places. Talking to regular riders of this course, this was not a particularly good day, which puts 2nd claim member Chris Fennell’s course record into perspective. Chris took 4 seconds off the 30 year old record, previously held by Colin Sturgess, to come home with 18.44. Another rider who had a successful morning was Adrian Hawkins with a PB of 21.07, while Nick Scott recorded 21.25. I’m not sure if this is a PB for Nick?

Club rider’s time in start order:-
Paul Kelk: 25.43,
Mike Perry: 30.51,
Dave Mastin: 26.32,
Andy McCall: 25.40,
Malcolm Adams (2nd claim): 28.16,
Nick Scott: 21.25,
Adrian Hawkins: 21.07,
Chris Fennell (2nd claim): 18.44, course record,
Chris Bax (2nd claim): 24.04.
