Once again, the evening time trial at Betteshanger CP was held in cold and breezy conditions. However, most riders, with a couple of exceptions, were able to improve their times from those achieved last week.
We had 15 riders sign on for this event, of which just 2 were juniors and the remaining 13 were seniors, including a 2-up pairing. The fastest junior rider was Dougie Tulett with 24.06, while second place and fastest girl was Alice Tulett with a good time of 33.16
Regarding the senior riders, first place went to Simon Henderson in 23.50. Second claim member Maria Sparks of Ashford Wheelers was fastest women in second place with a time of 25.41, ahead of Faye Faiers in 3rd place, who topped the times for the Thanet RC women with 28.13. The 2-up pairing of Ola Zdzieblowska and Richard McVey just missed ‘evens’, coming home in 30.02.
As always, we must thank our band of helpers who ensure that the event can take place. This week, they were Malcolm Adams, David Tulett, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.
