Ollie produced the ride of his life to come 3rd in the national junior road race today in Wallingford. The course was very rolling in the chiltern hills in a starting field of 120 riders from all over the Uk. A lead group of 6 riders went early and gained a lead of nearly 2 mins before Ollie and Louis rose Davies attacked off the front of the peloton with 25 miles remaining they were joined after the sharp 12% climb by gold and silver world champions Tom Pittock and Dan Tullett and the group worked together to bridge to leaders to form lead group of 18. In the last lap Tom Pittock attacked on the last climb and Ollie just managed to stay in touch hitting his highest ever high rate. The group of 6 then descended at 80kph to stay clear to the finish. Congratulations to Louis Rose Davis for taking the national title and ollie produced a strong sprint to gain a fine podium place for him and Thanet RC.
