This week, it was back to the regular 10 mile time trials at Betteshanger. The weather was warm but there was also quite a stiff breeze to overcome.

We had a reduced field of 32 riders, after several withdrawals due to illness, injury and the need to self-isolate. The junior section consisted of 10 riders, with 22 seniors also competing.

Our quickest junior was VC Deal’s Toby Clayson with a fine 25.48, while second place went to the first of the TRC boys, which was Alex Dack, whose time was 26.03. With a time of 27.54, Ferne Peirce was first girl in fourth place overall. I believe there were at least two PBs, for Dougie Tulett and Lawson Bax, and possibly one for Nina Reid too?

Top spot amongst the seniors went to Lewis Tompsett who recorded an excellent time of 20.19. Making her first appearance at one of our evening 10’s was Jenny Benson (VC Deal) who also claimed the best time for a woman rider with 26.34. Faye Faiers was fastest TRC woman with 27.01.

Times for all riders are in the attached files.

Thanks to our helpers this week, David Tulett, Andy McCall, Terry Fearn and Dave Mastin.

The next event on 21st July is a road bike time trial over 10 miles. Details to be published with the regular "invitation to enter".
