The penultimate evening time trial of the 2018 season was a 10 mile 2-up team time trial at Betteshanger CP. Conditions were breezy but warm, and there was a good turnout of 21 pairs taking part, along with 5 solo riders.
There was a variety of 2-up teams from juniors, mixed, parent/(grand)children, husband and wife, through to veteran pairs. Fastest overall was the Thanet RC pair of Shawn Manning and Nick Scott in a time of 21.30, with the VC Deal pair of Toby Anderton and Andy Hill in second place with 22.00. Toby Yemm and Catherine Morrell were the quickest all junior team in 6th place with a time of 24.46. The fastest all female pair was TRC’s Jo Smith and Abby Langley, whose time of 25.54 put them at 9th overall. The father and daughter team of Adrian and Talullah Butcher came in 8th in 25.24 to be the fastest senior and junior pair.
Only 4 of the 5 solo riders finished, with top spot going to Jamie Stokes.

As usual, our thanks got to the volunteers who helped at the event. This week, thy were Nicola Goodban, Di Yemm, Andrew Morrell, Keith Allen, Lawrence and Dan Martin, Michael Friend, Simon Henderson and Andy McCall.
The final evening event takes place on 5th September and is over 10 miles.
