The second round of the RTTC National Series took place in Longnor in the Peak District on Good Friday, with a very large field of over 175 riders on the start sheet. This “mountain time trail” saw the Seniors/Espoirs completing 3 laps of an 11 mile circuit, which results in a 33 mile race with a total of 4,360 feet of climbing and gradients reaching in excess of 20%. All others riders completed 2 laps of this gruelling course.
A break in the weather made for warm sunny day and dry roads which was welcomed by all riders. And drew in many spectators to the slopes.
Again Thanet had two riders at the event, Chris and Nic Fennell.

Unfortunately Chris Fennell was not feeling 100% on the day and was disappointed with his performance but still put in a impressive time of 1:26.57 which was a 6th place finish. This also claimed Chris 2nd place Espoir.

A 42nd place for Nic Fennell with a time of 1:43.45. Happy with his performance as a first attempt on such a tough course.

The overall winner of the event was Philip Graves (Clifton C.C. York) with a time of 1:23.26.

2nd – Tejvan Pettinger – 1:24.25
3rd – Brett Harwood – 1:24.58
