Thanet had 6 riders at Round 1 of The East Kent Cyclocross League held at Sandwich Technology School on Sunday 8th September. The sunny and dry conditions made for some fast racing on a technical course. In the Elite and U23 race Rupert Walls- Bruck came 41st in a race won by 5 time national champion Ian Field. In the Junior men’s race George Pittock was an unfortunate DNF with a puncture, the race was won by Luke Hazell of Panagua CC. Shannon Neame was 34th in the Youth A&B race in a race won by Piers Higginson of Team Darenth. We had 3 riders in the V40,V50 & V60 race which saw a huge field of 92 riders. Shawn Manning came an impressive 10th, Nick Austin was 45th and Simon Neame 64th the race was won by Matt Homles of Arctic Aircon RT. Well done to all our riders, the next round is at Northbourne Park on the 20th October.
