The weather for the final evening 10 mile TT at Betteshanger CP was dry, bright, but breezy. Nine juniors and thirty two seniors made up a good field of 41 riders in total. Most riders were a bit slower than the previous week, although a few managed to improve by a few seconds.

This week’s fastest junior was also our fastest girl rider, with Tallulah Butcher recording a time of 27.48. In second place was the quickest boy, which was Alex Dack with a time of 28.03.

For the second week in a row, Dan Martin of the University of Bath CC was top of the times for the seniors with 20.45. This was comfortably ahead of Steve Wilkinson (Folkestone VC) in second place in a time of 22.25. Rob Milnes came 4th with 22.58 and was quickest Thanet RC rider. Folkestone VC’s Susan Wallbrook claimed the best time for a woman with 26.20, while Abby Langley’s time of 28.02 was good enough for the honour of top Thanet RC woman.

Times of all riders are to be found in the attached PDF documents.

A big thanks to all our riders in 2019, and in particular to the band of helpers, without whom, these events would not happen. This week, they were Terry Fearn, David Redmond, Lawrence Martin, Michael Friend, Malcolm Adams, Mike Kirkness and Dave Mastin.
