It was a return to Romney Marsh this week for the VTTA Kent Group 25 mile time trial championship held on the Hamstreet by-pass course between Brenzett and Ashford. Conditions were cool and grey with a stiff headwind on the return leg, which didn’t give much assistance during the outward leg to Ashford. A number of club riders took part, including Simon Henderson, who was riding his first open time trial since his accident several months ago. Also, making a rare appearance locally was second claim member Seb Dickson (Cambridge Uni CC).
Although the club members didn’t feature in the veterans awards, they took first and third places on actual time. Nic Fennell was fastest overall in a time of 52.02, with Seb Dickson recording 53.49 for third place.
