We had good weather conditions for the latest evening time trial at Betteshanger CP. In fact, the weather was similar to last week, and so were the times for those riders who had ridden a week ago.
In spite of good weather we had a slightly smaller field of 21 riders enter but 3 were non starters. This week, just 4 juniors took to the start line, while 14 senior riders rode the event.
Just 3 juniors finished, as Seb Mugford was a DNF. The three finishers were all from the Tulett family, with William first (24.15), Dougie second (24.26) and third place went to Alice, (33.54). Regarding the senior riders, Neil Gerrard came out on top again with 21.51. Second claim member Alex Clay, (Team Bottrill) was fastest woman in 4th place with 23.00. This was her first ride outdoors after a nasty accident in the national “50” a few weeks ago. Faye Faiers was first Thanet RC woman home with 26.26, while there was a PB for Sorcha Page in a time of 27.51. Trying out a 10 mile time trial for the first time was Mark Sandum, who just manged to get under 30 minutes with 29.59.
The times of all riders are in the accompanying table.
As always, thanks go to our band of helpers; Caroline Rigby, Paul Griffiths, Terry Fearn, Malcolm Adams, Michael Friend and Dave Mastin.
