Mixed fortunes at Round.1 of the Lee Valley CC races today for youth and junior riders. In the U14 race Jack Hill came 16th and Flynn 17th in large field. In the Under 16 race Josh Chivilo had terrible luck with his chain snapping on the start lap and George Pittock while in the leading chase group behind the 3 breakaways suffered a puncture – a change of wheel however saw George lose half a lap but still finished 12th. In the juniors Alex Ashman rode strongly for 19th place I think, while Ollie Robinson continued his strong start to the season with 2nd in a sprint finish just beaten by national champ Jacob Vaughan by a wheel. Well done to all our riders at a bitterly cold Hog Hill.
