The first club time trial of 2016 was held at Betteshanger Country Park on Good Friday afternoon in sunny but cool and breezy conditions. Over 70 riders signed on, mainly 2-up teams, but there were a few solos riders as well. It was good to see a large number of juniors riding, as well as several lady’s teams.
The fastest pair were Adalta CC’s Wayne Beba and Keith Watson with a time of 21.23, just 3 seconds ahead of the fastest Thanet RC pairing of Seb Dickson and Rick Perkins (21.26). In third place was the composite team of Alex Paton (Pedal Heaven) and Rod Archibald (Adalta CC) who recorded 21.35.
The fastest ride of the day was actually by solo rider James Mapley (Blazing Saddles) with a time of 21.15.
