After two weeks of unsettled weather, we were treated to far better conditions for the latest evening 10 mile time trial at Betteshanger CP. It was sunny and warm, with a light wind coming from the south east. This improvement in the weather also brought about an improvement in times, with many riders posting their best times for the year, and possibly a PB or two as well?

Twenty five riders signed, of which just six were juniors. It was very close for the top position amongst the juniors, with Dougie Tulett’s time of 26.10 just edging out fastest girl, Ferne Peirce (26.11), by one second.

As expected, Bill Hawkes was first senior with a time of 21.31, while Faye Faiers was fastest woman rider in 26.24. See the attached PDF files for all times.

Thanks to this week’s helpers, Terry Fearn, Malcolm Adams, Roger Dewen, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.

Next week’s event is a road bike event and guidance on what is allowed regarding bikes and clothing will be included in the invitation email for the event, which should be out in the next few days. Riders can opt to ride a time trial bike but will not gain points for the season-long evening points competition.
