There was a smaller field than in recent weeks for our latest evening 10 mile time trial, as the holiday season gets into full swing. This week’s weather was warm and breezy with a headwind down the main straight. 21 riders took part, which included just 3 juniors.

Top of the times for the juniors was Ferne Peirce with 25.26, making her both the fastest Thanet RC junior and fastest girl. There were no Thanet RC boys this week so Toby Clayson of VC Dealwas quickest boy in a time of 27.13, and his team mate, Seb Mugford was third with 29.17.

Top of the senior times by a good margin was second claim member, Chris Fennell of the Independent Pedaler. His time was an excellent 18.51, which is just a few seconds away from his own course record. The ever-consistent Bill Hawkes was first Thanet RC senior with 21.28 in second place. And talking of consistency, our fastest woman rider was Faye Faiers once again with 26.08.

Helpers this week were Trevor Peirce, Shawn Manning, Ian Clayson, Malcolm Adams, michael Friend, Simon Henderson and Dave Mastin. See the PDF files for times of all riders.

Note that although next week’s event is listed as a 3-up, we will be welcoming 2-up and solo riders too.
