The annual Boxing Day 10 mile time trial on the Thanet Way course was held in bright but cold and breezy conditions. The overnight winds had dropped away but were still quite strong from the south west. This lead to a fast ride to the turn , but a tough ride back. particularly the last 2 miles up the hill to the finish.

In total, 16 riders signed on, including three junior members. The fastest ride overall was by 2nd claim member, Dan Martin, riding in his Bath University colours. Dan’s time was a fine 22.14, more than two minutes ahead of the fastest Thanet RC rider, Ollie Robinson, who was also fastest junior rider with 24.27. Sue Shields was fastest woman with 36.13, and Freya Cook was fastest girl with 33.42. The times of all riders can be found in the attached PDF file.

Many thanks go to the band of helpers who turned out to help. They were Pete Huckstep, Michael Friend, Robert Sissons, Lawrence Martin, Mike Kirkness and Dave Mastin.
