National 25mile TT Championship 5th August 2018

This year’s National 25mile championship was run on the P884c course in Hampshire, which runs on the A3 from Liphook to Petersfield. The road is gently rolling, with no significant climbs to note. With turns at 10miles and 22miles. The road surface is very smooth and was a pleasure to ride on.
The conditions were warm 16 to 20C and the wind which a very gentle and didn’t feel like it helped or hindered in either direction. The event was held and well run by a3crg.

TRC only had one rider at the event Nic Fennell, with a few second claim members also riding. All the club members returned with new Personal Bests and good positions overall.

Finish times in start order:
Nic Fennell – 48:55 – 27th – PB
Dan Martin (second claim) – 49:46 – 36th – PB
Chris Fennell (second claim) – 46:38 – 6th – PB

The event was won by Pro rider Marcin Bialoblocki with a time of 44:22. 2nd place was joint by Matt Langworthy and Chris Bartery with times of 46:13.

Andrew Meilak (Velo Refined) – 50:53
Kevin Tye (Velo Refined) – 48:38

The women’s event held on the Saturday, saw local rider Emma Lewis (The Independent Pedaler) finish 2nd in a time of 50:38.
And other local rider Pip Jenkins (Southborough & Did Whl) well positioned with a 55:31.
