Lots of further racing at the weekend which I’ll try and summarise
On Sunday was the SE youth championships on the crit course on Eastbourne front. Max Robinson rode very strongly to take the win to become SE champ. Also Lance Childs rode very strongly to just miss the podium in 4th with Jack Hill just behind. Finally in the U16 race George suffered a mechanical on the last lap you still managed a creditable 14th in strong field of 24.
Also at the same meeting TRC race team rider Toby Perry secured his 2nd cat licence with a fine 2nd in the 3rd cat crit.
On Saturday Lance Childs travelled up to Hillingdon for the latest round of the youth national series and finished a fine 30th in very strong national field of 60+
Ollie Robinson’s bad luck continued when riding the national junior CICLE classic race in Melton Mowbray on Sunday. When another rider crashed into the back of his bike and smashing the rear mech, a change of bike was slow to come and meant ollie was out of race. If the 120 starters only 50 finished in this ‘Paris-Roubaix’ course.
Finally TRC RT newest member Jo Smith finished a brilliant 2nd in the latest round of the national omnium series. This means she retains her 2nd place in the series.
