Several club members took part in the KCA “100” which took place on Hamstreet and Romney Marsh. The riders set off in warm sunny conditions but finished in heavy rainfall.

Making his debut at the distance was Chris Fennell, who suffered 2 punctures and lost around 10 minutes. Chris ended up with 3.42.23, which is more than 8 minutes inside Shay Giles’ club record. This was inside the old course record, but unfortunately Chris was beaten into second place by PMR’s Dan Tolhurst by just 13 seconds. Chris estimated than he lost around 10 minutes, so a ride of around 3.32.00 could have been on the cards! Another first timer at the distance was Phil Cook. There was a PB for Simon Henderson with his first ride under 4 hours, and a PB for Andy McCall, riding his first 100 for many years, and his first ride under 5 hours.

Club times in starting order:-
Phil Cook: 5.20.22
Chris Bax (2nd claim): 4.24.35
Andy McCall: 4.55.56
Chris Fennell: 3.42.23
Simon Henderson: 3.57.40
