Dear members,

TT’s commence at Fowlmead on Wednesday 2nd April. Please find some important information.

At this time we have not confirmed costs for running events at Fowlmead for 2014. Costs are as stated below until advised otherwise.

Please arrive for the event in plenty of time and follow the guideline for parking.

At Fowlmead signing on is in the car park – signing on closes at 18.15 and the events start at 18.30 sharp.

All riders under 18 will need to produce a signed parental consent for the season.

A copy of the form is attached for you to complete and hand to the timekeeper when signing on (1 form last for the whole season).

Thank you to all those who have volunteered for the ‘help and ride system’.

If you still want to volunteer please follow the guidance below.

‘ Help and ride system’ for club time trials 2014

The club organises evening Time Trials on Wednesday evenings from April to September every year at Fowlmead Country Park (Q10/42) and Thanet Way (Q10/31).

In previous years we have relied heavily on a small band of member and non member helpers who time keep, help and marshal sometimes sacrificing their own rides to allow others complete.

We are very grateful to those who have helped in 2013 Dave Mastin, Andy McCall, Deborah McCall, Teresa Childs, Malcolm Adams, Phil Steptoe, Rick Perkins, Frank Randall, Terry Fearne, Helen Fennell, Richard Fennell, Graeme ONeill but to mention a few and we do hope they will all help again in 2014.

To help ease the burden of those on who we rely heavily and to allow some of them to ride for 2014 we will be introducing ‘ help and ride system’ to support club time trials.

ALL RIDERS will be expected to help by committing to help at least two club events through the season to gain eligibility to ride

We are expecting good support from club and non club members who want to ride.

You will be expected to marshal on the course on which you are planning to ride the most events –

If you are only riding either Fowlmead or Thanet Way you will be expected to help at the course you will be riding.

If you can only help at other club events and would like to ride on Wednesday’s please contact the time trial secretary in the first instance.

It is the expectation that all riders including juveniles and juniors will help and ride. As we are not allowed to let juveniles and juniors marshal we are hoping their parents will be helping their children ride.

Non club members who ride but do not support the ‘ help and ride system’ will have to pay an increased entry fee for events until they have helped

Please be aware that if we do not get a commitment in advance the events they will be cancelled.

We are hoping members will continue to help with club open event (2 up TTT, Fowlmead 10, Thanet way 25) and KCA open time trials throughout the season.

To commit to help at any event contact Simon Henderson TRC time trial secretary by email.

The ‘help and ride’ commitment information will be posted on the club website/Facebook page and be updated regularly

The day before a club time trail, if an event does not have enough helpers committed a message will be posted on the club website/Facebook and the event cancelled.

No messages and the event will run as planned

I am sure we all want to ride in 2014 so please commit your support to our club.
