The weather was rather unkind to the riders and helpers this week at Betteshanger (formerly Fowlmead!). Signing on was carried out in warm, sunny conditions, with 11 juniors and 33 seniors hoping for a good ride. However, 5 minutes before the start, the rain came down and a number of riders decided to opt for an early journey home. Those who decided to ride had to contend with cool and wet conditions, and a wet track, even though the rain eased and stopped after about 15 minutes.
Our fastest junior this week was Toby Anderton of VC Deal with 24.22, just 3 seconds ahead of the fastest Thanet RC junior, Olly Dickson (24.25).
The fastest senior was local elite rider, Alex Paton of Pedal Heaven, riding his only time trial of the year. His time was 20.57. Simon Henderson was the best of the Thanet RC riders in fourth place with 22.49. All times can be found in the attachments.
Our helpers this week were Teresa Childs, Terry Fearn, Paul Griffiths, Paul Kelk, Ollie Robinson, Dan Martin, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.
