From the Time-Trial Secretary

This message is for all club members but it is directed, in particular, those who plan to take part in club time trials and Kent Cycling Association (KCA) time trials in 2015.

If you are riding either type of event in 2015 please read all of this message and respond to the details below.

‘ Help and Ride System’ for club time trials 2015. The club organises Time Trials on Wednesday evenings from April to September. These take place at Fowlmead Country Park (Q10/42) and on the Thanet Way (Q10/31). These events need to comply with various safety standards and this means that we will need to implement our ‘help and ride scheme’ again this year. If we are to have a successful and safe season, we do need good support from all riders including both club and non club members. In order to gain eligibility to ride, all riders will be expected to marshal at least two club events during the season. Riders will be expected to marshal on the course on which they are planning to ride the most events. Riders who would like to ride all Wednesdays but can help at other club events, should contact the Time Trial Secretary (simonhenderson44@btinternet.com), in the first instance.

Juveniles and juniors are not allowed to marshal but they are expected to support the help and ride scheme and it is hoped that their parents /guardians will offer their assistance as marshals in their place. Non club members who ride but do not support the ‘ help and ride system’ will have to pay an increased entry fee.

We hope that members and club friends will continue to help with club open events (2 up TTT, Fowlmead 10, Thanet way 25).
