Vince Evans, from Sholden near Deal, died in a road accident during a club ride on Gore Street corner on 28 July 1981. He was aged seventeen.
Vince was a club junior racing champio n referred to by then secretary, Jim Braginton, as “a likeable boy who would have been club senior champion in four of five years’ time.”
