Thanet Platinum Audax 2018
Date: Saturday 1st September
Venue: Goody Ales, Herne Common

September 2018 sees the return of the Thanet Platinum Audax rides, with a choice of three distances to challenge yourself – and enjoy! All non-riding club members and friends/family of riders are also welcome to join us at Goody Ales and enjoy the social occasion.

200km
Start time 8am
The standard audax distance, with a time limit of 13.5hrs. The route takes you across country through Selling and Charing to Biddenden, then via Brightling to Pevensey, back along the coast through Hastings to Rye and along rolling lanes from there to the finish.

Century
Start time 8.30am
New for 2018, a classic Imperial Century – 100 miles (160km). Follows the same route as the 200 to Robertsbridge then cuts across to Rye, rejoining the 200 route back to the finish.

110km

Revised route for 2018. Follows the 200 route as far as Pluckley then cuts across to a halfway stop at the Rare Breeds Centre, Woodchurch. Continuing to Brabourne, it then rejoins the 200 route to the finish.

Helpers
I would be very grateful for assistance from any club members who are willing to spare a few hours to help out on the day as follows:
Biddenden control (times: 0930-12.30) – stamping riders’ brevet cards. Due to likely rider numbers, this is ideally a job for two people.
Woodchurch control (times: 11.45-14.15) – same job, but should be manageable for just one person.
Finish (times 14.00-21.30) – checking in riders as they arrive, taking food orders. The busiest period is likely to be between 6-8pm so that’s when help would be most appreciated.
Expenses (eg petrol) will be covered, and food and drink provided back at HQ by way of thanks.

If you are able to help or have any questions about the rides, please contact the organiser:
