It was a warm, dry but breezy evening for the latest 10-mile time trial at Betteshanger CP. The stiff north easterly breeze made it tough going around the rear of the circuit, and hence most times were affected to a greater or lesser degree.
This week’s field consisted of 18 riders in total: 12 senior riders, 4 juniors and a 2-up team.
Fastest overall for the evening was also our top junior rider, Dougie Tulett, with a time of 23.29, with Seb Mugford in second at 27.50. Nina Reid was first girl in third place with 29.00.
Michael Philpot topped the times of the senior riders in a time of 25.18, while second place went to quickest woman rider, Faye Faiers. Faye’s time was 26.13. Third place went to Brian Hood with 26.42.
Finally, the two up pairing Ola Zdzieblowska and Richard McVey rode well to record 27.07 and probably would have got into the 26 minute window had Richard not suffered with a soft rear tyre on the final lap.
Times of all riders can be found in the accompanying table.
As always, we must thank our band of helpers who ensure that the event can take place. This week, they were Andy McCall, Terry Fearn and Dave Mastin.
